Andy Lewis. Andy was born in Bridgewater and learnt to play under the watchful eye of his Grandad in Bridgewater Salvation Army Young Peoples Band. He has played in Bridgewater and Kingswood Salvation Army Bands and spent many years as principal cornet of Totnes Town Band. Andy worked in the Mens Department at Marks & Spencers but is now retired. He enjoys spending a few hours on the golf course.

David Batstone. FTCL. An opportunity offered by the Air Training Corps introduced Dave to the trumpet, aged 14, which led to a lifetime as a musician. He became a professional orchestral trumpet player but after 15 years, moved to peripatetic brass teaching for the remainder of his working life. He says that teaching taught him more about how to blow a trumpet than learning or playing ever did. When not involved with music, he has spent much time with wooden sailing boats, restoring and enjoying.

Mike Griffiths. Mike is the son of Salvation Army Officers and this is where he gained his love of music and his early training. At the age of 15, Mike joined the Royal Marines Band Service on cornet and violin and spent the following years playing at venues all over the world. Following the Royal Marines, Mike joined the Prison Service and ended up retiring as a prison governor. Mike is very enthusiastic in all areas of music whether this is playing, conducting or arranging and has a wide and varied love of many different musical genres. Having been the Band’s MD for 20 years, Mike has now returned to playing.
